Under the auspices of the Bologna Center seminars for ECTS
coordinators are regularly conducted
In accordance with the order No. 943 of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine from 10.16.2009 "On implementation of the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System in higher education institutions of Ukraine", it is necessary, starting from the 2009/2010 academic year, to implement ECTS (2009) and its key documents in higher education institutions of Ukraine.
Implementation of ECTS in universities will allow to fill in the Diploma Supplement to European standard more appropriately (according to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decree No. 265 dated 03.02.2010), that will facilitate its recognition in the European Higher Education Area.
For the implementation of ECTS as a basic tool of the Bologna process in a university, an ECTS coordinators team has to be organized - on the level of university, faculty (institute), department. ECTS coordinators are the primary contact and responsible persons in the course of implementation of ECTS in a higher education institution and organization of students and teachers mobility programs.
Expected learning outcomes (competences):
On having completed the program, the participants are expected to:
- Know the objectives and provisions of the Bologna Process
- Understand the nature of transformations in the European Higher Education Area
- Understand the strategy and the prospects of Ukrainian higher education development in the context of the EHEA
- Analyze and discuss the necessity and prospectiveness of the EHEA for Ukrainian students
- Promote ideas of European integration in higher education
- Know the basic objectives of the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System implementation
- Understand the key features of ECTS
- Be able to explain the purpose of ECTS credits in lifelong learning
- Know the key documents of ECTS
- Be able to create the Information Package / Course Catalogue
- Be able to fill out the Student Application Form, Learning and Training Agreement and the Diploma Supplement
- Be prepared to provide guidance to educational process participants for filling in the key documents
Participation in the seminar will be useful for rectors and vice-rectors of higher education institutions, heads of Education and Methodology Departments, tutors, masters, postgraduate and doctoral students, other interested persons
